Origin Of Mind is an independent research project exploring how the brain and mind interact, introducing the Tetra Theory of Mind Design — a new framework for understanding how thoughts, memory, and consciousness are constructed in real time.

For more than two millennia, philosophers and scientists have wrestled with one of the hardest questions imaginable:
How do the brain and the mind interact, and what role does consciousness play in this process?
Origin Of Mind explores this question through a new constructionist framework known as the Tetra Theory of Mind Design, which proposes that thoughts are not stored like files in the brain, but constructed in real time through structured attentional processes.
About the Author
Dr D. Anthony Harvey is an independent psychologist whose research has explored dementia, autism, errorless learning in cognitive rehabilitation following stroke, output monitoring and age effects in prospective memory and the mechanisms underlying human mental activity. Over a nearly 12 year period he earned the following academic qualifications: BSc Psychology, MSc Cognitive Science, MSc Research Methods in Psychology and PhD Psychology.
Before entering academia he worked as an auto mechanic and later as a leading specialist automatic transmissions technician in London. This background in complex mechanical systems later strongly influenced his approach to understanding the brain and mind.
His work on the Tetra Theory of Mind Design represents the culmination of more than three decades of thinking about how mental activity construct from brain processes.
About the Project
Origin Of Mind is an independent research project exploring one of the oldest and most difficult questions in philosophy and science: how the brain and the mind interact. The project introduces the Tetra Theory of Mind Design, a constructionist framework proposing that mental activity is dynamically constructed rather than stored in the brain. The aim of the project is to stimulate new thinking across psychology, neuroscience, philosophy of mind, and cognitive science about how the brain facilitates mind and how this interaction occurs.
A brief introduction to the theory can be found on the Tetra Theory page, and further information about the author is available on the About the Author page.
